We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Thomas Maurice Asuquo John, a distinguished member of the Board of Directors of South Atlantic Petroleum Limited (SAPETRO), at the age of 84.

Dr. John, a former Group Managing Director and Acting Alternate Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (now NNPC Limited), passed away leaving behind a legacy of excellence and professionalism in the oil & gas industry. In addition to being the 5th GMD of NNPC, he was also the Executive Chairman and founder of Hydropec Engineering Services Ltd., and a former Non-Executive Director at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc.

During his time on SAPETRO’s Board, his contributions to the company were immense and invaluable. His wisdom, experience and guidance have been instrumental in shaping our organisation and his passing is a significant loss not only to SAPETRO but also to the industry at large.
